My Top Ten Ice Cream Flavors

By Jude Antonio C. Uy

Ice cream is love, ice cream is life. Ice cream is my favorite dessert of all time. It’s just that good! Today, I’ll be talking about my top ten flavors of ice cream.  It wasn’t easy choosing just 10 and ranking all of these, but it was very fun thinking about my favorite ice cream flavors. I’m sharing this with you all in hopes for spreading the love for ice cream. Now let’s get started!

#10: Double Dutch

Starting with no. 10, we have Double Dutch ice cream. It’s vanilla ice cream mixed with chocolate syrup, cashews, and marshmallows. It’s crunchy and full of flavor. It’s often included those family pack ice cream flavors so it’s pretty hard to not even try tasting this flavor!

#9: Strawberry

Next up, we got strawberry ice cream. It’s pink, sweet, and creamy. In my opinion, it’s perfect for summer cravings. It also goes well with the classic vanilla ice cream.

#8: Mango

Another one of my favorites is mango ice cream. From what I’ve noticed, this seems to be the most popular among Filipinos. It is our national fruit after all. It’s sweet and it just melts in your mouth. It’s perfect for outings with friends and family.

#7: Melon

Melon ice cream is my childhood favorite flavor. Whenever we would go to a mall back in grade 1, I would always buy this flavor. It’s creamy and it’s not too sweet, which is perfect if you just want something cool to enjoy.

#6: Chocolate with M&Ms and Nutella

This is a flavor combination I actually made on my own. I mixed my favorite chocolate spread, Nutella and also a classic chocolate candy, M&Ms. Each time I eat it, I get a sugar rush and sometimes tonsillitis. Be careful when you try to eat this combo!

#5: Rocky Road

This flavor is a delicious mix of chocolate, marshmallows, and nuts. I enjoy eating this during family gatherings and it’s a wonderful combination to feel happy. Make sure you don’t have any loose tooth when eating this flavor, as the crunchiness can make the experience painful.

#4: Cookies and Cream

Cookies N’ Cream is a heavenly mix of vanilla and chocolate cookies. If you’re a big fan of Oreos just like me, then this ice cream is for you! You just can’t resist the deliciousness of this one.

#3: Chocolate

We are now reaching top 3! Pretty surprising, huh? From what I’ve seen so far, chocolate is a flavor that’s often ignored by many. I look inside the ice cream container and most of the time, chocolate still have so much left. I don’t know about you guys, but this classic flavor is so good. Just don’t give it to your dogs though.

#2: Vanilla

Vanilla for the no. 2 spot! It’s a very versatile flavor and it can be enjoyed and mixed with anything. I usually enjoy it chocolate syrup, and sometimes with strawberry syrup too. But most of the time, I just eat it plain. A very classic flavor to enjoy if you don’t eat sweet things that much.

#1: Ube

Last, but not the least, my favorite flavor of all time, ube! It’s my ultimate childhood favorite. I remember eating a whole gallon of it just for myself when I was still a little baby. Well, my family keeps reminding me of it, so how can I forget? I really miss this flavor because for some reason, it’s usually not available in the stores in our neighborhood. Not only that, it’s a very Filipino flavor so if you want to have an authentic Filipino experience, give ube ice cream a try.

Bonus!

Here’s a picture of me eating Cookies & Cream ice cream. It's been a long day and eating ice cream just hits the spot. Get your self some ice cream and let's enjoy together!
